Instead of collaborating with the Art Society this year, we will be writing stories inspired by pieces of music. Our next two meetings will be devoted to workshopping and rehearsing our pieces for this event, which we have decided to call Sounds Write. This event will be held at the Nova Scotia Art Gallery Western Branch in Yarmouth on the evening of Friday, April 24th.

On April 12th, we will workshop and critique our pieces and on April 19th, we will have a rehearsal. Both will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 in the Sobey’s Community Room as usual.

Anyone who wants to participate should write a 3-5 minute piece of writing inspired by a piece of music. The idea is that we will incorporate the music into the reading (e.g. by playing your chosen piece of  music in the background while you read).

We’ll have more details soon. Until then, pick a piece of music and get writing!
